Important Message to our Family & Friends

Dear family & friends,

From basketball practices and soccer tournaments, to mini golf first dates and laser tag birthday parties, Starland has proudly been the heart of family entertainment in our south shore community since 1968. That’s why it comes with a heavy heart to share that, out of an abundance of caution, Starland will temporarily close its doors until further notice.

Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our guests. With the increase in COVID-19 cases across Massachusetts and recommendations from local and state officials to socially distance one another, family entertainment must take a back seat for the greater good of our community. Our hearts go out to those affected by these unprecedented times, and we appreciate the healthcare workers, first responders & local communities on the front line working to contain the coronavirus.

If you have an event, practice, or tournament booked with us during this time we will be contacting you to reschedule or discuss alternatives. For any questions, email info@starlandsports.com.

We cherish every memory that’s been made at Starland over the last 50 years, and can’t wait to make more with you soon. In this climate, we know entertainment might not be your first thought but we hope you’ll come join us when it’s safe to once again gather with family & friends.  

In the meantime, support your local businesses the best you can to help get them through these difficult times: purchase a gift card to your favorite restaurant; shop online at your favorite boutique.   1. Increase in # of hand sanitizers: more than 20 hand sanitizers are now available for use across the facility, with the majority using motion sensors, reducing the need for users to touch them.
  2. Increased frequency in cleaning & disinfecting high-contact areas: As part of the enhanced cleaning initiative at Starland, the frequency of cleaning efforts throughout the indoor & outdoor facility has doubled. In additional, disinfectants are now being used instead of general purpose cleaning solutions.The focus of the extra cleaning and disinfecting is on areas frequently used, including door knobs and handles, touchscreens, handrails, counter tops, railings, elevator buttons, play areas, table tops, and all attractions.There has also been an increase in the frequency of toilet cleaning, emptying of trash bins, and wiping of sinks and counter tops across the facility. Disinfectant is used for toilet flush buttons, door knobs, grab bards, and toilet paper dispensers
  3. Increased disinfection of floors and cleaning of carpets: The hardwood courts are cleaned 2x per week with disinfectant, while the turf was professionally cleaned & sanitized in March 2020 (typically 2x/year). Carpets are professionally scrubbed every week, supplemented by daily area vacuuming and mopping of high-traffic areas.
  4. Employees remain vigilant: Starland staff are encouraged to observe good personal hygiene, stay home if they are feeling sick, and alert managers to any guests that are in need of assistance.
