Basketball Day Program 

Basketball week is focused on individual and team skill development, and game application. This program consists of competitive games, use of our own Dr Dish Shooting Machine, and more! This jam-packed week will teach players all aspects of the game of basketball, on and off the court, while having fun! We are offering four sessions throughout the Summer – choose and sign up for the week that best fits your schedule!

Skills Week with Coach Crawford

This week-long, skill-based clinic will focus on improving and bolstering players’ basketball technique with Coach Crawford! Coach Crawford is the program director for Level Up Hoops, the assistant coach for Quincy College Basketball, the head coach for the 16U ZGXL Level Up Hoops team, and a personal skills trainer for some of the best players on the South Shore of Massachusetts and beyond. He has worked with countless of college players on their development and has a wide array of knowledge and expertise to teach young basketball players in this clinic.

Junior Hoopers Summer Day Program

Our fan favorite Starland basketball Junior Hoopers Program but Summer mode! This program will focus on learning the fundamentals of passing, shooting, pivoting, and more through game play and other competitive games. The Junior Hoopers Summer Day Program is the perfect program for your young one to improve and garner basketball training while having fun!

Beginner Basketball Academy (Grade K-1) 4-5pm

Come learn the game of basketball with us! This 7-week program will consist of games and skill work that will gauge your beginner’s interest in basketball. THIS CLINIC IS FOR BEGINNERS ONLY.  Skill work will involve the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting while also incorporating teamwork and sportsmanship. Players will be split into groups by age/skill level.

Junior Hoopers( Grades 2-3) 5-6pm

Come learn the game of basketball in a fun environment! This 7-week long program will consist of games and skill work that will work on developing and improving players’ IQ and overall skill. Skill work will involve the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting. This clinic is geared towards players who are looking to build their passion for the game. This is a great way to focus on the fundamentals and fine-tune their skills while having some fun. In this clinic, players will learn to play basketball the right way. We will focus on skills and drills while also doing competitions and some gameplay as well. Hoops will be lowered to  7.5ft to 8ft.

Beginner Basketball Academy Grade K-4 

 Come learn the game of basketball with us! This 7-week program will consist of games and skill work that will gauge your beginner’s interest in basketball.  Skill work will involve the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting while also incorporating teamwork and sportsmanship. Players will be split into groups by age/skill level. Learn skills and drills you can take home with you. Competitions individual and team contests as well as  2 v 2 and small games. Players will be spilt into groups by grade and skill level.

Shooters Shoot Clinic

Knock the rust off your shot with this shooting clinic! This clinic is strictly shooting…no ball handling…no defense…all SHOOTING and nothing but SHOOTING! Come learn a variety of game shooting drills to improve & develop more confidence in your shooting. The Shooting Clinic will run for 7 weeks. All athletes will have access to Starland’s very own Dr. Dish shooting machine during this clinic.

Point Guard Academy

Our Point Guard Academy is where aspiring basketball players take their skills to the next level! Our clinic is dedicated to developing the essential skills, basketball IQ, and leadership qualities that define a successful point guard.

At Point Guard Academy, we offer specialized training focusing on ball handling, passing, attacking the basket, finishing, PNR work shooting, and defensive techniques.

This 60-minute session will be focused on teaching and training the fundamentals. Athletes should come ready to work and be able to follow instructions/directions. Skills we will work on but are not limited to : passing, ball handling, pick and roll work, defensive techniques, and shooting.

Younger athletes should be able to reach the basket. Advanced 10 year olds should register for the 10-13-year-old class.

Back to Basics

This clinic is geared towards young athletes who are passionate about basketball and want to sharpen their skills. Back to Basics is very fundamental, and its purpose is to enforce proper mechanics and provide each individual with an understanding of how to practice and get better on their own. This is a great way to help create new habits and explore different ways to improve your game. Some Fundamentals that will be worked on throughout the duration of the clinic:

• Ball handling drills that you can work on at home to become more confident with the ball.
• Proper shooting technique.
• Passing and catching skills.
• How to box out your opponent and grab a rebound.
• Defensive stance and movements.
• Sportsmanship.
• How to be a good teammate.
• Basic 3 on 3 basketball strategy.

Shooting Academy

Come join THE SHOOTING ACADEMY. This is for serious athletes wanting to elevate their shooting skills. We will be focused solely on shooting allowing participants to hone their techniques and gain confidence in their shot.

Players will engage but are not limited to:

Form Shooting

Spot shooting

Off the dribble shooting

Catch and Shoot

Each player will keep track of their shots that they take and make allowing for personal accountability and progress tracking.

All athletes will have access to Starland’s very own Dr Dish shooting machine during this clinic.

Starland Summer League (Largest Summer League on the South Shore!)

Join the largest Summer basketball league on the South Shore and enjoy playing in an air-conditioned facility this upcoming season! After the game, enjoy a drink or some food at our new restaurant/bar, hang out at the outdoor amusement park, or have fun with our indoor attractions – there is something for everyone!

Each game will consist of 10-minute quarters (6th grade – Varsity) or 20-minute halves (3rd – 5th Grade) with running time. One parent from each team will be required to operate the scoreboard and fill out the scoresheet. Each game will have two certified IAABO officials. Game days are Sunday – Thursday, and games will start 4:30pm-10pm Monday – Thursday and 10am-8pm Sundays.

• 3rd Grade: Boys & Girls – Sunday/Tuesday
• 4th Grade: Boys & Girls – Sunday/Tuesday
• 5th Grade: Boys & Girls – Monday/Thursday
