Beginner’s Academy (Grades K-4)
Dates: Tuesdays, November 5th – December 17th (7 Practices)
Grades K-2 | 4-5P (8.5 foot hoop)
Grades 2-4 | 5-6P (10 foot regulation hoop)
Skill Level: Beginner
Cost: $139 ($109 if preregistered by October 25th)

Description: Come learn the game of basketball in a fun environment. Practices will consist of games and skill work that will gauge your beginner’s interest in basketball. Skill work will involve the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting while also incorporating the concept of teamwork and sportsmanship. All beginner players will receive their own reversible Supernova basketball jersey with a number!
Meet the coaches…
Coach Fitzsimmons played basketball in high school at Fontbonne Academy in Milton, MA. While in college at Boston College she played intramurals and women’s organized leagues. After college Coach Fitzsimmons continued to play basketball in organized women’s and coed leagues for a number of years. She coached youth basketball in the Metrowest travel League for 10 years until 12/2017 when she became an IAABO certified basketball referee. She has been refereeing all levels of boys and girls basketball from youth leagues to high school as well as adult leagues.
Ryan Nolan is the former assistant varsity assistant coach for Pope John High School in New Jersey. He has past experience as a head Junior-Varsity coach and freshmen coach. Many of his players have played for UMass, Sacred Heart, LSU, Oregon, and some have made it to the NBA. He has a strong focus on individual skill development and fundamentals. He is entering his 7th season as a high school assistant for Supernova AAU Basketball!
Elite Academy (Grades 2-4)
Dates: Thursdays, November 7th – December 19th (6 Practices; No Practice Thanksgiving)
Skill Level: Intermediate/Elite
Cost: $149 ($119 if preregistered by October 25th)
Bundle: Register for the Elite Academy and the Co-ed League for just $208
Description: This is for athletes that already have a foundation (proper layup footwork, shooting mechanics, and passing mechanics). Practices will include defensive mechanics, basketball IQ, shooting off the catch, shooting off the dribble, and attacking the basket while working on the concept of teamwork. All Elite players will receive their own Supernova reversible jersey.
Meet the coach
Heath “Noopy” Texeira is our 6th Grade Girl’s coach. His basketball career spans over 30 years in a variety of roles including player, scout, recruitment, player development, trainer, management, assistant and head coaching. Whether K-12, travel leagues, AAU, college, clinics, combines, professional (PBL, NBL & ABA), or international basketball, the goal of developing athletes to work to their full potential both on and off the court are his priorities. In his efforts with young athletes, together they work to improve skills, deepen understanding of the game, and to set clear goals. Noopy conveys the principles of being part of a team, representing an organization and carrying themselves as athletes.
Kyle Plant is entering his 2nd year with Supernova and his 8th year coaching youth sports. As a multisport athlete at Plymouth North High School, he learned many valuable lessons that he looks to pass on to his players. He believes in developing schemes that best fit his player skill sets. His main goal is to develop leaders both on and off the court. He is currently an assistant coach for Marshfield High School.
The League (Grades K-4)
Dates: Mondays, November 4th – December 16th (7 Games)
Grades K-2 | 5-6P (8.5 foot hoop) **Limited to 20 spots**
Grades 3-4 | 6-7P (10 foot regulation hoop) **Limited to 20 spots**
Skill Level: All skill levels
Cost: $119 ($89 if preregistered by October 25th)
Description: The League will consist of games only. Each game will consist of two 20-minute halves with running time. There will be no skill work being taught. Our coach/official will make sure each player is aware of the rules and is using teamwork.
